Jersey, his fans have been eagerly waiting with bated breath for actor’s first
glimpses. The actor has been prepping up for his role and will soon start
shooting in Chandigarh. Now here’s another reason to be excited about Shahid
Kapoor’s next. The makers of Jersey have roped in Shahid Kapoor’s father Pankaj
Kapur. A few days back, Shahid Kapoor’s picture from his prepping up session had hit the Internet.
Pankaj will be playing one of the pivotal roles in the film that already has Shahid Kapoor & Mrunal Thakur as the lead pair. We must say it will be very interesting to see father-son duo come together after Vikas Bahl’s Shaandaar. Reportedly, Pankaj will play a mentor like figure in the film to Shahid and will be a strong pillar of support to Shahid’s character. After Kabir Singh, Shahid Kapoor is all set for yet another South remake. The actor will be seen portraying the role of a cricketer in his mid-thirties. Talking about joining Jersey, Pankaj Kapur told section of media, “I am very excited to be part of the film. Jersey is a very strong story and is driven by emotions. Working with Shahid has always been very interesting and I have always admired his ability to portray emotions beautifully.”
The Hindi version kicks off its shooting schedule next week in Chandigarh. Presented by Allu Aravind, produced by Aman Gill and Dil Raju and it is slated to release on August 28, 2020.
