After releasing a lovely still from Kalank last evening, the makers now dropped the first look of Varun Dhawan who essays the role of Zafar in the movie. The poster depicts Varun in a fierce and ferocious avatar as his eyes are filled with rage.

Sharing the look, Varun tweeted, “It’s been a hell of a journey playing this gem of a character. The actors and the makers have been upping curiosity around the movie since yesterday. First, they shared a glimpse and then a still from the movie which depicted a woman and a man sailing through a boat and the ancient ambience really caught our attention. Karan also penned a long note with the picture as he wrote, “A film that was born in my heart and mind 15 years ago....a film I passionately believe in...the last film my father worked on before he left us....it was his dream to see this film come through....I couldn’t fulfil his dream then....my spirit was broken....but today his wish has found a relationship with celluloid....the story of turbulent relationships and eternal love has found a voice....the film has been woven,nurtured and visualised by ABHISHEK VARMAN....and the film Is KALANK! Set in the 40’s but it’s heart lives on.....TOMORROW the journey begins.....am excited ...anxious and emotional about this one...I do hope you join us on our path to undying love.....#KALANK”


Helmed by Abhishek Varman and produced by Karan Johar, Sajid Nadiadwala, Kalank also stars Alia Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapur in it. The movie is slated to release in April 2019.
