Kangana Ranaut Expresses Grief Over Music Legend Pandit Jasraj’s Death, Says ‘My Dream Of Meeting Him Someday Lies Shattered Today’

Kangana Ranaut Expresses Grief Over Music Legend Pandit Jasraj’s Death, Says ‘My Dream Of Meeting Him Someday Lies Shattered Today’
Pandit Jasraj, one of the world's most renowned Indian classical vocalists, passed away at the age of 90. The music legend breathed his last in the US.  Following the heartbreaking news, the entire film and music industry mourned the loss. Musicians such as Shankar Mahadevan, AR Rahman, Vishal Dadlani and many others took to their social media and expressed their grief over the death of Shri Pandit Jasraj. Now, Kangana Ranaut mourned his death and mentioned in her tweet that her dream of meeting the music legend someday has been shattered.

A tweet shared by Team Kangana Ranaut read, “What a big loss #PanditJasraj.” In yet another tweet, she shared a video of the Hanuman Chalisa, which was a duet between Pandit Jasraj ji and Shankar Mahadevan. The tweet stated that Kangana listens to this in every difficult situation she faces in her life, when she feels unsure and overwhelmed. Kangana also dreamt of meeting him someday, but she stated in her tweet, that the dream lies shattered today.  

“In every challenging situation in life where I feel unsure and overwhelmed I listen to this, he may not know what his voice means to me but my dream of meeting him some day lies shattered today #PanditJasraj,” read the tweet posted by Team Kangana Ranaut.


Shri Pandit Jasraj’s career in music spanned over eight decades, during which, he was awarded the Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan, Sangeet Natak Akademi Award. In 2000, the government of India conferred him with the Padma Vibhushan, the second-highest civilian honor in the country.
