Kamal was the CFO at Eros before he moved out to produce films independently. He joined hands with Neeraj Pandey in tbe Dhoni biopic and had excitedly met me then at J W Marriott (Juhu)- but soon fell apart with Team Pandey and found himself in no man's land. He used to often tell me that I will see his name in the credits of the Dhoni biopic but I knew he was just being brave. And then Manikarnika happened for him. Now this means that the film has to collect about 200 cr to be called a hit. And buzz suggests, that the overbudget expenditure also means that Kamal has to pay a certain amount to Zee. The stress was definitely there (ab natural hai, chahe aap maane yaa na maane) but we don't know if that had an adverse effect on him, or is it that it was something that just struck out of the blue?
