Kangana Ranaut Takes A Sly Dig At Netflix After Announcing ‘Tiku Weds Sheru’ On Amazon Prime Video
Amazon Prime Video on Thursday announced more than 30 projects that will be released on its platform in 2022 as part of its 2022 slate. Kangana Ranaut's ‘Tiku Weds Sheru’ is also one of the announced projects which is set for release on Prime Video.

Well, after announcing her film on Amazon Prime Video,  Kangana Ranaut criticized Netflix and Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar following the announcement. Her Instagram story described how Netflix's head (Karan Johar) attended star-studded parties hosted by a 90's director fading from prominence.

Taking her Instagram handle, Kangana wrote, "Data suggests that Amazon Prime Video is doing way better than Netflix in India maybe because they are much more open-minded and democratic when international head visits India they don't park themselves at a fading 90s director's infamous party but meet everyone who is contributing to them' Last I heard Netflix's head was not able to understand the Indian market' Well, the Indian market is not just one b***hy gossipy nineties director'. There are hundreds of talented people here. (sic)"

Kangana cited latest data, and praised Amazon Prime Video, which is reported to be the doing better than Netflix in India. ‘Maybe because they are more democratic and open-minded,’ Kangana Ranaut said taking a sly dig at Netflix.  

Further, she noted that the head of Netflix did not understand the Indian market as there are hundreds of talented people in the industry - not just bitchy gossipy directors from the nineties.


Kangana Ranaut's remark was about a party hosted by Karan Johar for Netflix's head Bela. Many celebrities attended the party, including Shah Rukh Khan, Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Kriti Sanon, Sara Ali Khan, Farhan Akhtar, Shibani Dandekar, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Madhuri Dixit, Manish Malhotra, and Shashank Khaitan.
