Kanika Kapoor Coronavirus Controversy: 60 Guests With Whom Singer Partied Tested Negative
Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor who was tested positive of COVID-19, left everyone in a state of panic. Now reports of 60 people being tested negative have come in, those who came in touch with her, were confirmed by State Surveillance Officer Vikasendu Agarwal
Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor being tested positive of Coronavirus post her return from London created headlines. Post which she was taken to the hospital for the treatment in Lucknow, meanwhile, the State Health Department was busy tracing people who got in touch with her. Luckily the department could trace down many of them and to top it all they even got all of them tested. And all of them who have been tested, are negative was confirmed by Surveillance Officer. Followed by which more sample will also be tested in the upcoming days.
State Surveillance Officer Vikasendu Agarwal was quoted saying by Indian Express, “We have traced and contacted 266 people, including 106 people in last 24 hours, all over India. These include some prominent politicians, who came in contact with singer Kanika Kapoor. We have tested more than 60 samples and all of them have been confirmed negative. I don’t think we have more people to trace as we have already talked to all the organisers and people present in the four parties attended by her. We have traced the shops and salons she had visited. I don’t think there is anything else remaining now.”
The list also included former Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje, her son Dushyant Singh, former Union minister Jatin Prasad and his wife Neha, Uttar Pradesh Minister of Medical Health & Family Welfare Jai Pratap Singh.
Explaining further he also mentioned how tracing these contacts was a challenge, everyone who had met Kanika was supportive. “The good thing is that all the people present at the parties have been very supportive. They are the cream of Lucknow, people in the highest social strata… They are all following our quarantine instructions,” said Vikasendu Agarwal. Kanika had flown back into India on March 9, later she jetted off to Lucknow and partied on March 15. Followed by being tested positive on March 20 and taken to quarantine and further treatment.
