Kanika Kapoor Travels Back To London, While UP Police Continues To Investigate Her FIR For Flouting COVID-19 Rules
Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor was amongst the first Bollywood celebs to have tested positive for the Novel Coronavirus in the month of March 2020. The singer who had flown down from London was booked for being irresponsible and not informing the health officials about her travel details. Now as per reports in Times of India, while the UP police continue to investigate the matter as an FIR was filed against her, it is learnt that the singer has flown out of India already.

The singer is said to have left India in the month of June 2020 to be with her kids, in London. A source informs the cops are waiting for the singer’s travel details from March 2020 when she came to India, the source was quoted saying, “We have asked Air India to send us her travel details. Once we have that we shall proceed further in the case.” With the outbreak of COVID-19 India had stopped all the fliers coming from overseas from March 18, 2020, onwards, but Kanika back then had told cops about being in India on March 9, followed by travelling to Lucknow on March 11.

The actual reason an FIR was filed against her was before she tested positive after her journey from London to India, she flouted the COVID-19 guidelines and did not quarantine herself. In fact, she met around 500 people and attended a high-profile party, which increased the chances of the singer spreading the virus at a rapid speed.

As per reports, FIR filed against her is not shown on the UP Police database, commenting on it Amitabh Thakur, a senior IPS officer, UP Police has said, “One of the possibilities is that the FIR has not been uploaded on the site, which is why it shows ‘Record not found’. This happens if the case is a sensitive one. The police can’t dismiss an FIR once it has been filed. In Ms Kapoor's case, had the police filed a charge sheet against her, her passport could have been seized.” ALSO READ: Kanika Kapoor, Zoa Morani, Kiran Kumar And Mohena Kumari; Celebrities Who Beat COVID-19 Like A Fighter
