Kapil Dev’s Daughter, Amiya Turns Assistant Director For Ranveer Singh’s 83
As Kapil Dev is gearing up to mentor Ranveer Singh for Kabir Khan’s 83, his daughter Amiya too has joined the team as an assistant director for the film
Kabir Khan's upcoming film 83 starring Ranveer Singh is one highly anticipated project. It follows the cricketing journey of Kapil Dev when he was appointed as captain of the Indian Cricket. The film is based on how the team defeated West Indies in the final of the World Cup in 1983. This is a story that deserves to be told. Ranveer once rightly quoted, "83 is an incredible underdog story."
While Kapil Dev is gearing up for the prep of the film; guiding Ranveer to master the act. His 23-year old daughter, Amiya too has turned assistant director with this film. Sandeep Patil’s son Chirag, who plays Ranveer's father in the film, met Amiya recently and told Mumbai Mirror, “We met for the first time while working on the film. She’s from Delhi, I’m from Mumbai and she’s way younger than me. She’s part of our daily training sessions since she is on the direction team. So, she keeps us updated on any meetings we are supposed to attend. Whenever I’m in Kabir’s office she’s there and is very involved in the process, be it planning the costumes or the schedule."
Meanwhile, the reports are that Team 83 will be heading to Dharamshala in the next few days for a training and bonding session post which, they will head to London, Scotland and begin shooting for the film from May 15. Other actors who will be seen in the film include Pankaj Tripathi, Saqib Saleem, Harry Sandhu, Ammy Virk, Sahil Khattar, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Jiiva among others.
Along with picking up the special moves of the cricketing legend Ranveer Singh is also has a huge task of picking up the cricketer’s mannerisms. While talking to Mid-day, the co-producer, Vishnu Induri revealed, "Ranveer will start prepping from November. Kabir and he are in touch with Kapil, who will fly down to Mumbai for a week in November to help Ranveer prep for the role."
