As KJo is killing it on social media right now with his funny posts, while in self-isolation with family, the filmmaker shared a video talking about the magic of face mapping. Sharing the video, Karan asks fans to have a laugh as he steps into his favourite actor Rishi Kapoor’s shoes for song Main Shayar Toh Nahi from filmmaker Raj Kapoor’s film Bobby.
Taking to Instagram, Karan Johar captioning it, ““The Magic of Face mapping”...Raj Kapoor was one of my all time favourite film makers!!!! and Rishi Kapoor is my all time favourite actor!! This is a present to me by Sandeep @2ouringsandy I’d like to thank him for this gift, one that I will always treasure!!!! I also want to tell all of you to please go ahead and laugh!!! You are totally allowed to!!!! artist @sanjaytrimbakkar.” As KJo talks about the magic of face mapping in his post, in the video shared by the filmmaker, instead of Rishi Kapoor, Karan features in the classic song Main Shayar Toh Nahi.
The song Main Shayar Toh Nahi is from the 1980 Raj Kapoor film Bobby that featured Rishi Kapoor, Dimple Kapadia, and Aruna Irani. In the video, instead of Rishi Kapoor, a fan managed to mask Karan Johar’s face and the filmmaker looks quite okay singing Main Shayar Toh Nahi. As KJo shared the hilarious video, the filmmaker mentioned that Raj Kapoor was one of his all-time favourite filmmakers and Rishi Kapoor his all-time favourite actor. Mentioning the artist that created the video, Karan thanked him and asked everyone to go ahead and have a laugh.
