Karan Johar calls Rakhi Sawant the ‘first honest celebrity’ on his show Koffee With Karan
Karan Johar, who is back with his chat show ‘Koffee With Karan 7,’ has recently opened up about Rakhi Sawant's appearance on his show in 2007. In a recent interview, KJo called the controversy queen the ‘first honest celebrity’ on his chat show who started the trend of rushing to doctors for cosmetic surgery. For the unversed, Sawant appeared on the second season of KWK and became popular for her line “jo bhagwan nahi deta, wo doctor deta hai.”
Recalling the same, Karan told Peepingmoon, that the actress was at her candid best on his show. He was quoted saying, “At that point of time, she was a moment. Everybody was talking about her. She was candid and she was the first honest celebrity that existed. Everyone said, ‘are you calling her to make fun’, I said, ‘no, I am very interested in her mind'. And I still am. I still feel that there is so much that she is holding back when there is so much that she is projecting.” The filmmaker added, “I remember her big famous line was ‘jo bhagwan nahi deta, wo doctor deta hai. Meanwhile, this time, Koffee With Karan 7 is premiering on the OTT platform, unlike other seasons which aired on television. The first episode was graced by Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt and the next guest to appear on the show is Janhvi Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan.
Talking about Rakhi, she was recently spotted with a fake baby bump and told the paparazzi she would give birth to 'Messiah and Pagumbar.’ On the work front, she was last seen in the reality show Bigg Boss 15 with her estranged husband Ritesh Kumar. After the show, the couple announced their separation via a post on social media. Rakhi is now dating Bangalore-based businessman Adil Khan Durrani and is often spotted with him.
