Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas got engaged in an intimate ceremony on August 18. While fans are elated for the new phase of the couple’s lives, the 10-year age gap between the two has also been a point of discussion. Priyanka is 10 years older than Nick. While the union shatters stereotypes and the star couple has never addressed it, the actress’ good friend Karan Johar was asked about the same at a recent interview. And, we must say, he didn't shy away from blasting the conservative mindset.

Speaking on the chat show Off Center, Karan said, "Relationship should not be about it. I am very liberal and progressive among these things. I have never thought, 'Oh, your man should be older than you.' Why? Why should we say these things? If you find compatibility and you find a relationship of comfort, who cares who's older than who. Who made these rules that the man should be older? Like sometimes I have heard members of my family say things like this. Sometimes, I feel that's the saving grace of the relationship. Sometimes the maturity that a woman brings to the table, I think it can actually make sure that the relationship has a strong binding. So, I really don't buy all these things, it doesn't make sense to me."

Karan Johar And Priyanka-Chopra

We totally agree with Karan on this one. There is no rule set by any constitution across the world where it says that a guy marrying a girl has to be elder than her. Nick and Priyanka make for a lovely couple together, and we totally adore them to the core.

Priyanka Chopra And Nick Jonas

Priyanka and Nick are spending some quality time together in the US attending chat shows, fashion shows and dining together. At the Jimmy Fallon show recently Nick revealed that Priyanka loved the nick name 'Prick' for the two of them, which he didn't like at all. They had recently also gone to Mexico for a quick vacation, and the pics were simply breathtaking.
