For those unaware, Kareena on Sunday attended the Indian Chamber of Commerce-Young Leaders Forum event in Kolkata.

"I don't agree with it at all. If that happens, how will we entertain, how will you have joy and happiness in your life, which, I think everybody needs And which cinema and films are promising, which we have always done, which films have always done. Agar films nahi hogi toh entertainment kaisa hoga (If films aren't there how will the people be entertained),” Kareena was quoted as saying by ANI.

The #BoycottBollywodo trend sparked ahead of the release of several films last year such as Laal Singh Chaddha, Liger, Brahmastra and Raksha Bandhan. This ultimately impacted the film’s box-office numbers.

Prior to the release of LSC, Twitter users started trending the hashtag #BoycottLaalSinghChaddha, urging the potential audience to refrain from watching the movie. Films like Liger, with Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday, and Brahmastra, starring Ranbir Kapoor, were also called out by many to be boycotted.

However, Brahmastra was a ray of hope, as it managed to do good business at the box-office, and it turned out to be the highest-grossing films of 2022. But, netizens once again took the internet by storm ahead of Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone’s Pathaan release.

Meanwhile, on the professional front, Kareena Kapoor Khan has interesting projects in the pipeline. She will be seen in Sujoy Ghosh's thriller which is based on the book The Devotion of Suspect X. The film stars  Vijay Varma and Jaideep Ahlawat. Apart from that, she also has director Hansal Mehta's next untitled film. ALSO READ | WHAT!
