Kay Kay Menon Joins Ashutosh Gowariker’s Panipat
It’s a plum assignment for Kay Kay Menon. Sources say he was Gowariker’s first choice. The shooting is underway
The latest from Arjun Kapoor-Kriti Sanon starrer Panipat is the addition of Kay Kay Menon. The versatile actor has been signed for an integral role. A source says, “Kay Kay will exhibit shades of grey.” Gowariker wanted no one else but him. Kay Kay did not take long to say yes. He loved the script and has consented in principle. The modalities are fast being worked out.
Panipat is another historical saga from Gowariker’s stable. This director clearly cannot do away with history to be projected on celluloid. Some of his movies depicting history have flopped miserably but he refuses to change tracks. Adds a source, “Gowariker is obsessed with history. Movies succeed and flop. There is no formula which can be used. If there was one, every filmmaker would have minted money at the ticket windows with every venture of his/her.”
Panipat helmed by Ashutosh Gowariker, produced by Sunita Gowariker and Rohit Shelatkar will release in December this year.
No prizes for guessing that Ashutosh’s wife Sunita must also be involved in Panipat. The man is pretty excited and his Khar office is buzzing with activity ever since Panipat went on floors. We would be extremely happy for Ashutosh if this film hits the bull’s eye. We would only caution him to guard his weakpoint- spending a bit too much on his ambitions. Budget is one of the main criterion to decide the fate of a film at the box-office in today’s times. Gowariker, are you listening?
