Kiran Rao SLAMS Rumours About Aamir Khan Recommending Fatima Sana Shaikh For Thugs Of Hindostan

Thugs Of Hindostan’s casting has grabbed eyeballs, some for good reasons and some for bad. While Katrina Kaif is the last thug to join the cast, this one is about the first thug- Fatima Sana Shaikh.
Since the time it was made official that Fatima will share screen space with Aamir Khan yet again after Dangal for YRF’s Thugs Of Hindostan, whispers started doing the rounds that the lady has bagged the project because of Aamir Khan’s recommendation.
However, neither has Aamir Khan nor has Fatima San Shaikh spoken about these rumours. But, that has not stopped Kiran Rao from speaking her mind.
At a recent event, when media asked Kiran about the rumours afloat that Aamir helped Fatima get the role in Thugs Of Hindostan, Kiran sternly replied saying, “We don’t deal with casting. Aamir, Adi and Victor decided the casting so they must have given it a good thought because it’s a big film. There has to be merit or else they wouldn’t take risk with such a big film.”
Well yes, Kiran defended Fatima and also stood up for her husband’s decision of casting Shaikh in the film.
The film will be directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya and it stars Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh in lead roles. The latest addition, Katrina Kaif, in the star cast of Thugs Of Hindostan left many surprised as recently the only names which were doing the rounds to make it to the lead with Aamir Khan were- Shraddha Kapoor, Vaani Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan. Katrina Kaif’s name had surfaced long back when the film was probably announced but after that there was no news of her joining the cast.
Quite a controversial casting, we must say!
