Krishna Raj Kapoor Death, LIVE Updates, 1:55pm - Amitabh Bachchan has just arrived at Krishna Raj Kapoor's bungalow in Chembur. He is accompanied by his daughter Shweta Bachchan Nanda. Shortly before the Bachchans, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukerji had arrived to pay their respects to the Kapoor matriarch.

This morning, we spoke up to the unfortunate news of Krishna Raj Kapoor’s death. The Kapoor matriarch suffered a cardiac arrest in her sleep and died early this morning. The moment the news spread, Bollywood celebs such as Aamir Khan, Raveena Tandon, Ekta Kapoor, Soha Ali Khan, Madhur Bhandarkar, Farah Khan and Anupam Kher among others took to social media to offer condolences to the family. Now, Randhir Kapoor, Rima Jain, Aadar Jain, Kajol, Sanjay Kapoor, Anil Kapoor and Sunita Kapoor have reached Krishna Raj Kapoor’s residence minutes ago.

Krishna Raj Kapoor was keeping unwell since many years and was hospitalised multiple times. Randhir Kapoor told PTI, "My mother passed away at about 5 am today due to cardiac arrest…old age was another factor. We are deeply saddened by her demise.”

A while ago, we brought to you a video of Ranbir Kapoor talking about his late grandmother. The clip is from 2013 when the Kapoor family came together for a photo shoot with Vogue. In one of the behind-the-scenes video, Ranbir talks about Krishna Raj’s Sunday lunches. He said, "We meet every Sunday at our grandmother's place where she has this amazing spread of food, several Peshawari dishes. The entire family comes and we spend the entire day there chatting, speaking about each other's work and experience... hearing the time when Shammi Kapoor and Shashi Kapoor were an actor. My grandmother used to tell us stories about my grandfather. It's awesome just to hear these stories. It is nostalgic and it is history."
