Lara Dutta Sets The Record Straight On Her 'Wedding Prediction' For Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Reprimands News Portals

Lara Dutta, who is currently busy promoting her movie 'Bell Bottom', was recently asked to comment on the young couples of Bollywood. In the said interview, Lara said she is from the 'older generation', and hence, doesn't know much about who is dating whom. When asked about Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, Lara said that she believes they will be getting married this year.
This statement of hers burgeoned into a sort of expose - and a few news portals carried this highlighting the "prediction" part. They said Lara had "predicted" the wedding date. Lara has now reacted to the news reports about her "wedding prediction" for Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor. Taking to Twitter, she said that the media has been putting words in her mouth. Lara set the record straight by tweeting, "As lovely a couple as both these actors make, I'm certainly no seer or soothsayer to predict any such thing! Media needs to stop putting words in our mouth and coming up with completely nonsensical news."
On a related note, last year in an interview with Rajeev Masand, Ranbir had opened up about his wedding plans with Alia. The Sanju actor said that had it not been for the coronavirus pandemic, he would have gotten married. "I don't want to jinx it by saying anything. I want to tick mark that goal very soon in my life," he had said. Maybe that's the reason Lara made the "prediction".
