After the most-awaited and most-anticipated film of 2020, Laxmii, is now finally streaming on Disney+Hostar. The film has been making headlines for good as well as bad reasons ever since the trailer of the film was dropped online. Laxmii, was earlier titled as Laxmii Bomb, but Hindu Sena called the film "derogatory" and "offensive”, its title was changed. The film is the official Hindi adaptation of Tamil film Kanchana, helmed by Raghav Lawrence, who has also directed the Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani starrer.

Laxmii was dropped on Disney+Hostar at 7:05 PM and netizens have been glued to their TV sets since. Twitterverse has reviewed the film and the film has got two extreme reactions. One section can’t get over Akshay’s role as a transgender. Social media users can’t get enough of the film and continue to shower praises on Akshay and Kiara starrer. Ahead of Laxmii release, director Raghav Lawrence wrote a thank you note for Akshay Kumar for accepting the role. He wrote, “My special thanks to Akshay sir, Hi friends and fans. My Hindi debut direction movie Laxmi is releasing in #Disneyplushotstar at 7.05 pm today. Through Tamil movie, Kanchana I wanted to convey the pain and struggles of transgender’s and the movie received a lot of appreciation from transgender’s community and the public.
