Legendary Actor Ashok Kumar’s Daughter Bharti Jaffrey PASSES AWAY Due To Prolonged Ailment: Son-In-Law Kanwaljit Singh Shares The Sadden News
Legendary actor Ashok Kumar's daughter Bharti Jaffrey left for the heavenly abode on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, due to a prolonged ailment. She was cremated on Tuesday evening at Cherai Crematorium, Chembur Camp in Mumbai. The news of her demise was shared by her son-in-law Kanwaljit Singh via social media post. He is married to Bharti's daughter Anuradha Patel.

Kanwaljit Singh took to his Instagram handle to share the saddening news. He shared the picture with Bharti Jaffrey and entire family and wrote, “Our beloved Bharat Jaffrey, Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, Grand mother, Aunt, Neighbhour, Friend and inspiration has departed us today 20 Sep. We will bring her home at 1.30 pm today for her final goodbye at 403 Ashok Kumar Towers, 47 Union Park, Chembur 71, and thereafter cremate her at Cherai Crematorium, Chembur Camp.”




Filmmaker Nandita Pur expressed her grief and her fond memories of Bharti Jaffery. She told ETimes, “Bharti Jaffrey was a vivacious and warm person and everyone will miss this affection and warmth. Though Anuradha (Patel) and Kanwaljit (Singh) are family friends, Bharti di endeared us to her by her thoughtful gestures. She never forgot to wish me every birthday. Or pick up a souvenir from her trips. I will miss her very much. And not forgetting she was an extremely talented actress.”

For the unversed, Bharti Jaffery was the second wife of Hamid Jaffery, brother of Saeed Jaffery. She is also the maternal grandmother of Kiara Advani. 

Bharti Jaffery was a part of notable films such as Hazaar Chaurasi Ki Maa (1998), Saans (1999), Daman: A Victim of Marital Violence (2001) to name a few.
