Aamir Khan is known as Mr Perfectionist. After watching him avoid controversial questions today, we want to add Mr Diploamatic to the list of adjectives used to describe the star.
Aamir was present at an event to launch Dangal's first song Haanikarak Bapu and naturally was quizzed about his opinion on the two hot button topics of the moment, the new American president Donald Trump and Indian PM Narendra Modi's surprise move to demonetize 500 and 1000 rupee notes.

Modi's move was touted as a strike against black money and when asked asked about his opinion, this is what he said with a laugh, "Mere paas to paise rehte hi nahi hai, toh mujhe is se koi farak nahi padta."
After that quip, Aamir once gain stayed on the safe side of things and added: "What people are facing is a short term problem, it is important for India. I've no problem even if it affects my film."
And then came the Trump card. This is what Aamir said when asked about America's controversial choice for its first president: "It is too complicated. Why don't we focus on the song."

Aamir has often been attacked as anti-national in the past for expressing his opinion on socio-political matters. Last year, he found himself in the middle of a row over his remarks on rising intolerance in the country which resulted in a case of sedition being registered against him.
It looks like Aamir is keen to avoid similar controversies this year. But sometimes taking a stand is better than playing it safe, Mr Diplomatic.
