Liger: Vijay Deverakonda Finds His Leading Lady Ananya Panday ‘Lovely’ And Hard-Working: ‘She’s A Fun Co-Star’

In January this year, Karan Johar had released the first look of Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday starrer Liger, and the poster left fans excited. There was fan hysteria over the poster of the film, and Vijay Deverakonda took to his social media to share that he got emotional, and also promised nationwide madness on the release of the teaser. This morning, it was announced today that Liger will release in theatres on September 9. Now, Vijay Deverakonda has opened up about working with Ananya Panday, and him entering Bollywood.
While speaking to Times Of India, Vijay Deverakonda said that working with Ananya Panday was fun, and that she is a hard-working actress. “Ananya is lovely! She works hard and does a really good job. She's a fun co-star,” he said. Further, he spoke about how he hadn’t ‘planned ‘ on entering Bollywood, and that it is just something that happened organically. He revealed that he isn’t someone who works according to plans and that as soon as he heard the script, he wanted to be a part of the movie.
“As soon as I heard the script, the story, I wanted it to be a part of it. And it made sense to make a pan-India movie because it was a story that I feel the country will enjoy watching. I felt ready for it hence we scaled it up. Everyone was on board and we set it up that way. But it was not an intentional plan to enter Bollywood. ‘Liger’ is just something that happened,” he said.
While Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday will be seen in pivotal roles, Liger also features Ronit Roy. The film is produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Charmme Kaur, and Hiroo Yash Johar.
