Poonam Pandey has time and again proved that she is someone who wears her heart on her sleeve. The actress has proved it yet again with her stint on Kangana Raunat’s reality show ‘Lock Upp’ where she has been pouring her heart out to inmates, sharing dark secrets of her personal life. Right from talking about her childhood struggles, on being trolled for dealing with domestic abuse to suffering physical and mental abuse in her marriage, Pandey is not shying away from expressing herself on the show, which is backed by Ekta Kapoor. In the latest episode, she made a shocking revelation that her ex-husband Sam Bombay used to 'beat her like a dog.'
While speaking to other co-contestants Poonam opened up about her troubled relationship with Sam Bombay and said he would beat her up like a dog and used to lock her in the room. “This jail, the food, my sleep, it is luxury for me. I was in a relationship for 4 years and those four years of my life I couldn't sleep. I couldn't eat. I would not eat for days, that's why I crave for vada pav. I would get beaten up. I would get locked in one of my bedrooms. My phone was broken so I couldn't make any calls. And the next time I would just feel that I should kill myself. I've tried to kill myself multiple times. Kutte ki tarah maarta hai na, kutte ki tarah,” Poonam said.
She added that when photos of her bruised face went viral, she was brutally trolled by several netizens. “At that point I started feeling I am very weak. I am not Poonam Pandey. Mera bahut mazak udaaya gaya, bahut bada mazak.. I consider myself very lucky that I am alive, emotional well-being. But I am proud of the fact that I am out of it and I am sitting with you all here,” Poonam further shared. Hearing Poonam’s heartbreaking story, other contestants got emotional and consoled her. They also hailed Poonam for putting up the brave front and coming out stronger from the trauma.
