Lok Sabha Election Results 2019: Actress Kirron Kher Likely To Win In Chandigarh
Kirron Kher, a leading television and film actress, also a member of Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) is leading in the Chandigarh constituency in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. During the morning, the actress was leading with 1500 votes against Congress Pawan Kumar Bansal. Whereas, AAP’s Harmohan Dhawan got 1365 votes.

According to Hindustan Times reports, due to Kher's satisfactory performance as a first time MP she was given a BJP ticket to fight the 2019 elections. 

The actress had defeated Bansal to win the seat by a margin of 69,642 votes in 2014.

To win the second term, Kher has said that she was totally banking on “Modi Wave”.

She told PTI, “I have a clean image and on the other hand, the entire country knows his image. It is my city and my hometown. I have done a lot of work here...I have been a vocal MP. I did not act in films for five years.”

While on the work front, Kher has been a judge on the TV show India’s Got Talent
