In a statement shared on Monday (April 8), the 64-year-old stated, "I would like to put all rumours about me joining politics to rest. I am not joining any party or contesting elections. If I do decide to step into the political arena then I will be the first one to announce it." He emphasized the importance of relying on authentic information and cautioned against the proliferation of baseless rumours. The actor's declaration effectively puts an end to conjectures suggesting his potential candidacy from the Karnal Lok Sabha seat in Haryana, against former Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar. This isn't the first instance of Dutt dispelling rumours about his political aspirations; in 2019, he rebuffed claims made by Maharashtra Minister Mahadev Jankar regarding his affiliation with the Rashtriya Samaj Paksh party.

Despite his familial ties to politics, notably his father Sunil Dutt's tenure as a Congress MP and his sister Priya Dutt's political career, the Sadak star has primarily focused on his film career and personal life. While he did venture into politics in 2009 as a Samajwadi Party candidate for the Lucknow Lok Sabha constituency, legal constraints led to his withdrawal from the race. Despite being appointed as the General Secretary, he eventually parted ways with the party.

On the cinematic front, Sanjay Dutt's fans can anticipate his upcoming projects such as Baap and Welcome To The Jungle, featuring a stellar ensemble cast. Scheduled for release on December 20, 2024, these films promise to captivate audiences with Dutt's undeniable charisma and talent, reaffirming his stature as a beloved figure in Indian cinema.
