Love Aaj Kal Clocks 12 Years: Deepika Padukone Celebrates The Milestone; Actress Reminisces Old Memories With Saif Ali Khan-Video

Deepika Padukone is one of the most versatile and talented actresses of Bollywood. The Om Shanti Om star has many blockbuster films to her credit and amongst them is her 2009 released rom-com Love Aaj Kal. Directed by Imtiaz Ali, the film also featured Saif Ali Khan in the lead role with Deepika. Imtiaz’s directorial received love and praise from the audience and critics. And, as this movie clocks 12 years of its release today, Deepika took to her social media accounts to celebrate the milestone.
Taking to Instagram, the Ram Leela actress shared a beautiful montage video, while recalling the old memories with Saif. Sharing the clip, she wrote, “I can’t believe it’s been 12 years since Love Aaj Kal already! @imtiazaliofficial @dineshvijan #saifalikhan @dianapenty.”
The Padmaavat actress also added Mohit Chauhan’s soulful track ‘Yeh Dooriyan’ to the video, which shows a compilation of photos and the song ‘Chor Bazaari’.

In a statement, Deepika reminisced about playing Meera, a character she said resonated with many women at the time. The 35-year-old actress said, “I can’t believe it’s been 12 years since ‘Love Aaj Kal’ (released) already! Meera, I believe, was simply beautiful; inside out. A character many related to at the time. Just reminiscing about all those months we spent filming in Delhi and London, brings a smile to my face.”
Produced by Saif Ali Khan and Dinesh Vijan, the romantic drama drew parallels between two love stories – one set in the 1960s and the other in the new millennium.
