Actress Mahira Khan who shot to limelight because of her show Humsafar, where she played the lead opposite Fawad Khan went on to make her Bollywood debut alongside Shah Rukh Khan in Raees. The lady is making headlines once again. As an experienced and well know actor of Lollywood Firdous Jamal's comments on her acting skills and age have turned into a big controversy.

 

It all began when Firdous was invited for a talk show hosted by another famous actor Faisal Qureshi. During a conversation about Mahira, Jamal said, “Sorry to say, she has no skills of being a #heroine, she is just a mediocre level model”. “She is not an actress and not a heroine”. Jamal further said, “Mahira is overaged and actresses of her age usually play the role of #mothers and not the main heroine”. 


And this statement has irked a lot of other actors in Pakistan. One such actor is Mawra Hocane who also did a film here in India, Sanam Teri Kasam, with Harshvarshan Rane. She tweeted, "Taking a dig at the biggest name of your country makes you as small as it gets. Disrespectful remarks in the garb of opinions need to STOP. Hope the two mins of fame were worth it. Mahira works extremely hard to be where she is. It’s not easy

Along with Mawra we also produce reactions of some well-known actors from their industry who called Firdous Jamal's comment disrespectful. 

Osman Khalid Butt tweeted, "In the midst of all the madness, would like to take a moment and thank everyone who's sent such wonderful messages of support, and countered exaggerated criticism with praise for my work, especially in Surkh Chandni. Your love is not lost on me. It gives me strength.”

Humayun Saeed wrote, "Extremely disappointed and strongly condemn Firdous Jamal’s comment regarding Mahira Khan. Whatever his point of view is, there’s absolutely no justification for such rude remarks for a colleague publicly & on television. Mahira is extremely hardworking and honest to her craft..."
