Actress Mehreen Pirzada, who is known for playing the role of Anu in the Anushka Sharma and Diljit Dosanjh starrer Phillauri, has called off her engagement with Bhavya Bishnoi. Taking to her Instagram stories, the actress issued an official statement and announced the news. Her brother, Gurfateh Pirzada, who is all set to mark his debut opposite Sanjay Kapoor’s daughter Shanaya Kapoor also took to his Instagram stories to share the update. The Guilty actor has shared the family’s official statement.
In her statement, the Phillauri actress said, “Bhavya Bishnoi and I have decided to break off our engagement and not go ahead with the wedding. It's a decision that has been taken amicably and in the best interest." As per the statement, the actress further added, "With respect in my heart I would like to say that from now on I have no further association with Bhavya Bishnoi, any of his family members or friends."
Mehreen further mentioned that this would be the only statement that she will be making. And, she said, “This is the only statement I will be making regarding this and I hope that everyone respects my privacy as this is a very private matter. Meanwhile, I will continue to work and am looking forward to giving my best in my future projects and performances."
For the unversed, Bhavya had proposed to Mehreen during their trip to the Maldives. Bishnoi had planned a sweet underwater surprise for his ladylove. They got engaged in a grand ceremony at a fort in Jaipur, in March this year. Several videos from Mehreen and Bhavya’s engagement made it to the public domain and were viral on the internet. On the work front, Mehreen is currently working in Tollywood and is busy with Anil Ravipudi's F3. She will star alongside Venkatesh, Varun Tej and Tamannaah Bhatia.
