It is to be noted that Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue is the third collaboration between Akshay and Jaccky Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh’s Pooja Entertainment. After giving hits like Bell Bottom and Cuttputlli, they are all set to entertain the audience with the Tinu Suresh Desai directorial. For the unversed, the actor and the director have worked together before for the movie Rustom. Talking about the movie, born on November 22, 1939, in Amritsar, the late engineer played a significant role in rescuing miners trapped inside a flooded coal mine in Raniganj, West Bengal. Out of 220 miners, six miners died on the spot. Gill jumped to the rescue of the remaining 65 in a six-hour-long, dangerous ordeal. He passed away in November 2019 and is survived by his wife and four kids. He was awarded Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak by the then president, Ramaswamy Venkataraman. A chowk in Majitha Road, Amritsar, is also named after him.
Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue is directed by Tinu Suresh Desai and produced by Pooja Entertainment. The edge-of-the-seat drama is set to release on the big screen on October 6.
