Yes, you read that right! SLB wanted to cast Aishwarya and Salman as the lead in Bajirao Mastani. While many reports had earlier suggested that the actress had walked out of the film, years later she issued a clarification and stated that she didn’t do the movie as she didn’t want to work with the filmmaker’s Bajirao. Without taking any names or pointing fingers, the actress made it clear that she didn’t want to share screen space with Khan. Quoted by Bollywood Life, in an interview the 49-year-old actress had shared that she was ready to play the character of Mastani, but not with “Bajirao he had in mind.” Talking about the rumours of her walking out of the movie, she went on to reveal, “The media made it out to be that Aishwarya walked out of Bajirao Mastani. According to the entertainment publication that quoted Subhash K Jha’s interview, the Dabangg actor had then taken Katrina Kaif to Bhansali’s office claiming that she is his Manstani. However, the filmmaker wasn’t convinced. Finally the film went to Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, who had earlier worked with him in Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela in 2013. The movie became a blockbuster hit as the audiences and critics alike heaped praises on the entire team.
