Mithun Chakraborty Resigns From Rajya Sabha Following Health Issues

Veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty, who was nominated to the Upper House by the ruling Trinamool Congress in February last year and took oath as an MP four months later, has resigned today citing health issues. His term was to be over in April 2020. But due to health issues, the 66-year-old veteran actor put down his papers before time.

However, it is also being reported that Mithun was not very happy when his name got involved in the multi-crore Saradha Chit fund scam. According to the reports, Mithun was the only person who voluntarily returned the entire amount of money he had received from the firm. Now if this is the reason for his resignation or it’s really his health issues, is best known to him.

You may recall that a few months ago, SpotboyE.com had reported that Mithun Da was very unwell. We called him but our calls went unanswered at that time (Health Scare For Mithun Chakraborty, Star Isolates Himself In LA, 20 Oct).

We had also got in touch with his manager Vijay, who had said, "Dada is unwell and not in Mumbai. He is not using his phone and has decided to rest himself in Los Angeles for some time.”

On further probing, Vijay added that Mithun Chakraborty was down with chronic back trouble and wanted to be alone for some time. "Dada also had a hairline fracture in his back, but thankfully he doesn't need a surgery," he had said.

Mithun Da’s last film was Hawaizaada co-starring Ayushmann Khurrana. He also featured in Salman Khan’s Kick.
