Mouni Roy Feels That Bhagavad Gita Should Be A Part Of School Curriculum; Says ‘It Is More Than A Religious Book, It Is Life Ka Saar’
Actor Mouni Roy who had gained immense appreciation for portraying Goddess Sati in Devon Ke Dev Mahadev recently talked about the importance of the Bhagavad Gita. The actor feels that she has become very religious now and hence, thinks that Gita should be a part of the school syllabus as it has answers to every question. Mouni believes that Gita could change the orthodox thought process in families in India. Not just in schools or India, she also feels that Gita is needed worldwide. Furthermore, she also thinks society needs this knowledge or awareness.

"I read Bhagavad Gita Ka Saar in childhood but didn't understand it until now. See, one of my friends started reading the Bhagavad Gita and I also joined the class -- this is before lockdown -- and I didn't make many classes due to my hectic schedule. But during the lockdown, I was very religious. I think it should be a part of our school curriculum. I genuinely feel that it is more than a religious book. It is 'life ka saar' (the crux of life), eternal knowledge, and it is basic knowledge. If you have a question in your head, the Gita has the answer," said Mouni to IANS.

"We literally live in ignorance, and we actually come from a country of the Vedas and the Upanishad, yet we don't do anything. We are sitting on a gold mine and we don't do anything about it. The entertainment industry is a stressful place, you don't have the concept of Saturdays and Sundays, a 9-to-5 job, and we are constantly consumed in our minds and thoughts. So, for sure, the Geeta is needed here, but having said that I think (be it) the rural, the urban, and the metros, everyone is in dire need of the Bhagavad Gita's teachings," added Mouni.

Mouni Roy will be next seen in Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra alongside Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan and Nagarjuna. ALSO READ: Wedding Bells Ringing For Mouni Roy? Actress' Mother Meets Rumoured BF Suraj Nambiar's Parents At Mandira Bedi's Residence
