Mr India 2: Shah Rukh Khan Turns Down Mogambo’s Role In Ali Abbas Zafar’s Next – Reports
Reports of Shah Rukh Khan teaming up with filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar have been doing the rounds of the Internet for quite some time now. It was just a day back when Ali Abbas Zafar announced Mr. India Trilogy for OTT platforms. Soon after the announcement names of celebs like Ranveer Singh and SRK’s started popping out, who are rumoured to fill in Anil Kapoor and Amrish Puri’s shoes, respectively, in th 2nd instalment. But seems like SRK’s fans may have to wait a bit more as the actor has reportedly turned down the offer of playing Mogambo in Mr. India 2.

According to a report in Asian Age, Shah Rukh Khan’s reports of him playing Mogambo seemed to be a marketing fantasy. A source close to the development revealed to the portal,  “Director Ali Abbas Zafar approached Shah Rukh for Mogambo’s role in Mr India, but Shah Rukh declined the role. It would be foolhardy for him to take on an iconic role like Mogambo, which Amrish Puri has immortalised. It would be stupid of any actor to touch that role. Shah Rukh, in any case, is not doing any negative roles.”

Uh-No! We are sure after reading this, SRK fans are will surely be disappointed.

Meanwhile, Bharat director Ali Abbas Zafar will write and direct Mr. India Trilogy. Giving more deets about the project IANS quote him saying, “I have just commenced working on the script, no actor has been locked till now, once the first draft of the script is ready, we will begin the casting process. The film involves massive amounts of pre-production and will go on floor early next year.”  (ALSO READ: Shah Rukh Khan's Chak De India Clip Makes Its Way To Arvind Kejriwal’s AAP Victory Tweet)
