On Naseeruddin’s 67th birthday today, he gives a special return gift to his viewers and it sure is emotional. Adhiraj Bose's Int Cafe - Night (pronounced Interior Cafe Night) opens up in a setting where it’s almost closing time when cafe owner Naseeruddin Shah spots customer Shernaz Patel at a table. The story cuts to a flashback where Shweta plays the younger version of Patel in the 13-minute film, which is about two former lovers re-uniting, who parted 30 years ago in Kolkata. From the YouTube channel LargeShortFilms that gave the masterpiece Ahalaya starring Radhika Apte in 2015, comes another brilliant short film.
We all have heard the story of two lovers reuniting after ages a million times, but this one is exceptional and touches the right chord, unusual in the way it has been told, and of course because of its outstanding performances.
