Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s song Swaggy Chudiyan, his debut as a singer, has caught on like wildfire.
“I don’t know why! I am really no singer. And I’ve no illusions on that score. Nor do I have any aspirations to be one. But this is for my brother Shamas’ film Bole Chudiya, and more than my brother it is the producer who was keen that I sing the number,” reveals Nawaz who is a big fan of Hindi-film music.
“When I heard Kumar’s lyrics about the launda on the Honda, I knew this is a hit song. I didn’t want them to waste it on my voice. But since they insisted I said, okay why not? If you notice there is more rapping than singing in the number. Sunny Inder’s composition is very easy-going. Koi khass ussmein singing skills ki zaroorat nahin hai(not much singing skills are required here),” admits Nawaz who recently participated in a music video.
The talented actor further assured that his fans need not worry about him singing any more in near future as he said, “That music video Baarish Ki Jaaye made me lose my inhibitions about dancing on screen. This song in Bole Chudiya has made me confident about singing. But audiences needn’t get worried. I am not going to be singing more songs, at least not in the foreseeable future.”
