Neena Gupta Reveals How She Told Daughter Masaba About Wanting To Get Married; Says 'Society Doesn't Respect You If You're Unmarried'
National Award-winning actress Neena Gupta is definitely one of the amazing actresses who prove that age is a just number! Being a single mother to designer Masaba Gupta, the senior actress, in a conversation with ETimes, shared her journey till date, and also explained the importance of marriage in the society we reside in. She tied the knot with Vivek Mehra in 2008, and she shared how she convinced her daughter Masaba, and how she told her that she wanted to get married.

The actress, while speaking to ETimes, mentioned going out with Vivek for 8-10 years before they decided to take the wedding vows. She said, “Frankly, I didn't have to tell her. Vivek and I were going around for 8/10 years; he used to come down to my house in Mumbai and I often used to go to Delhi.” Recalling the time when she spoke about marriage to Masaba, Neena revealed Masaba only had one question, why?

“But yes, precisely speaking, when I told Masaba that I want to get married, she wanted to know why. I told her that marriage is important if you have to live in this society else you don't get respect,” she added.

On the concluding note she said, “And, Masaba understood me. Masaba is one person who will do anything for her mother's happiness whether she likes it or not. So, I was not worried. I was just feeling a bit awkward in telling her that.”
