One of Bollywood’s IT couples Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are currently busy enjoying the best phases of their life. Apart from raising their darling daughter Raha Kapoor, they have been a part of blockbuster movies like Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani and Animal in 2023. They were recently awarded for their work in the movies during the Filmfare Awards 2024 in the Best Leading Role (Male and Female) category. Expressing her happiness, Neetu Kapoor took to her official social media handle to celebrate which led to her getting trolled because of it.
Through her Instagram post, Neetu shared photos of Alia and Ranbir on the Filmfare stage posing for the camera with their award. While one was a recent photo, another one was from 2019, when they had won the same awards for their performance in Raazi and Sanju. She expressed her excitement and stated that she had prayed for a repeat of the 2019 win. She wrote, “I secretly prayed n wished a repeat of 2019 ( Sanju raazi ) so happy it happened again !!! Well, it is safe to say that her post didn’t go down well with the netizens as it invited a lot of criticism and brutal trolling. While many criticised Alia and Ranbir for winning in the categories as there were more deserving winners, others expressed shock at her excitement knowing that the awards show is paid. One wrote, “Paid awards rahe to apko secretly pray karne ki kya zurat hai mam. Bas secretly cheque bhijwane hote hai.” Another wrote, “Your husband confessed to buying awards. The couple tied the knot, after dating for a couple of years, in April 2022 in an intimate ceremony in the presence of their close friends and family. They announced their pregnancy in June 2022 and welcomed their baby daughter Raha in November 2022. On the work front, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt will next collaborate on Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial Love & War. Set to release in Christmas 2025, the movie also stars Vicky Kaushal in the lead role.
