Neliima Azeem Opens Up On Her Divorce With Pankaj Kapur And The Impact It Had On 3.5-Year-Old Shahid Kapoor; Says 'Pankaj And I Never Had A Home Together'

Neliima Azeem is one of the well-known celebrities. Apart from her movies, Neliima Azeem's personal life has always created a huge buzz. In a recent interview with Bollywood Bubble, Neliima opened up about her divorce with first-husband Pankaj Kapur, when their son Shahid Kapoor was only 3 and a half years old. She said that when he was born they spent the early years of his life at her parents' house in Delhi and Pankaj moved to the city to try his luck in the entertainment industry.
She said, "Shahid was very young, he was three and a half years old. Shahid was born in Delhi, while I was staying with my parents, because Pankaj had already left much earlier. At the time when I had conceived before we knew, he had already shifted to Bombay and he wanted to try his luck in films and television. I had supported him because I thought he was a very talented young man who deserves to explore his full potential."
She further revealed that she was taken care of by her parents and her brother throughout her pregnancy. 'When Shahid was born, we were with my parents in their home,' she said. Adding to that, Neelima said 'Pankaj and I never had a home together ever. Shahid was used to staying with us there in Delhi. It wasn't as if he stayed with his father and then he had to shift out. He was in the same surroundings he always was in, from the time he was born. It didn't make such a huge difference. He was very young and secondly, he was in the same ambience and family structure as he used to be.'
As many know, after her divorce from Pankaj Kapur in 1984, Neliima Azeem married Rajesh Khattar with whom she had another son, Ishaan Khatter. Neliima and Rajesh called it quits after few years of marriage. Shahid Kapoor is one of the most popular stars of Bollywood. Ishaan made his debut in Bollywood with Shashank Khaitan's Dhadak in 2018.
