Nimrat Kaur is one of the most loved stars in the industry. Recently, she delivered a terrific performance in the film Dasvi. She starred alongside Abhishek Bachchan and Yami Gautam in the same. Nimrat essayed the role of Bimla Devi and she had to gain 15kg for the same. On Wednesday, Nimrat shared then and now photos as she opened up about her journey of physical transformation.
The actress shared that she was body-shamed for gaining weight. She also asked people to be kind towards others. Excerpts from her open letter could be read, "In the age of heightened expectations regarding what we "should" look like at all times - gender, age and profession no bar, I'm sharing a small chapter from my life that brought with its learning that shall last a lifetime. Bear with me, as unfortunately, there isn't a 'bite-sized' version of this 10-month long journey."
She added, "Born with what's typically categorised a small to a medium body type, with Dasvi came the requirement for me to size 'up'. The idea being to be as unrecognisable and physically as dissimilar from 'being Nimrat' as possible. There was no target number in mind, but by the end of trying to achieve the desired visual impact, I was a touch about 15 kilos from my usual body weight."
