No More Leaks Like Udta Punjab! Maharashtra Government Sets Up PIPCO
The state of Maharashtra has set up a cyber cell team to battle the increasing menace of piracy
Good News for Bollywood and we might not have
catastrophes like the Udta Punjab leak. India's first and advanced PIPCO (its
like London's metropolitan police lab intellectual property crime unit) an
anti-piracy squad will be in Mumbai. There were many complaints coming from
Bollywood about piracy, and now we will have a set-up in place to fight the
menace.
Maharashtra Cyber Cell is coming up with a project in
which they are going to set up a squad which will be working exclusively on
Bollywood, Hollywood and any commercial video piracy.
Filmmaker Mukesh Bhatt
According to sources, Deputy Commissioner Of Police
Balsingh Rajput completed three months training at London's PIPCO and now
Maharashtra Cyber Cell with the help of Motion Films Association are starting
this squad. This is a pilot project and in starting there were 9 to 10 people
who will be taken in the squad; 5 people will be from Motion Films Association
and 5 will be from cyber department. The office will be at World Trade Centre.
Talking about the same, Mukesh Bhatt said, "I am
happy with the initiative taken by our CM Devendra Phadnavis. Because Mumbai is a
place where 100 yrs ago Indian Cinema began. So I am happy that he took an
initiative at the birth place of Indian Cinema... And by doing this, he is
helping out the industry which is dying because of piracy. I applaud the CM for
this initiative. I am indeed very happy with this."
Prerna Arora Of Kriarj Entertainment
Prerna Arora of Kriarj said, "This is really a good
sign for the film industry. Piracy is one of the biggest evils which has
plagued our industry. It has to be stopped at any cost. Loads of money and
hardwork goes down the drain due to rampant piracy. We at KriArj Entertainment,
support each and every endeavour of the Maharashtra Govt against piracy."
