Ranbir Kapoor and his wife Alia Bhatt are currently on a promotional spree for their upcoming film ‘Brahmastra’ which releases this Friday, 9th September. The couple along with the director Ayan Mukerji was in Madhya Pradesh's Ujjain, however, Ranbir-Alia were stopped from entering the famous Mahakaeshwar Temple by Bajrang Dal activists. They staged a protest outside the temple saying they would not allow them to worship at the holy temple because of Ranbir’s ‘beef eating’ remark.
For the unversed, the Rockstar actor in an interview had said that he likes to eat mutton, chicken, and beef in non-veg food. This statement of him did not go down well with Bajrang Dal activists. Also, they are miffed by Alia for saying that those who want to see her film Brahmastra should watch it while those who are not interested shouldn't. Speaking to the media, Bajrang Dal leader Ankit Choube said, “We will not allow them to worship at the holy Mahakaleshwar temple as a few days back Ranbir had said that he likes to eat mutton, chicken, and beef in non-veg food.”
However, Ayan Mukerji sought the blessings of the deity and shared a photo of him from Mahakaleshwar Temple on his Instagram handle. In the caption, the director mentioned that he felt very happy and energised to have got the most beautiful darshan at the holy temple.
