PadMan And Toilet: Ek Prem Katha Producer Prernaa Arora Arrested, Breaks Down In Court Before Being Led Away By The Police
Prernaa Arora has been put behind bars. Her father Virender is leaving no stone unturned to get her out ASAP
Prernaa Arora who runs the production house KriArj Entertainment has landed up behind bars until Monday at least. The matter is serious and Prernaa broke into tears when Esplanade Court announced imprisonment today.
Her lawyer Ashok Saraogi told SpotboyE.com that she is in police custody at Crawford Market. "We will apply for bail on Monday when the mater will be heard, Prernaa was arrested, last night." Prernaa hugged her father Virender and started literally sobbing before being led away. The lady in question has been arrested by the Economic Offences Wing for her alleged involvement in a fraud worth several crores.

Her production house KriArj has produced famous films such as Rustom, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, PadMan and Pari but the producer has been involved in a number of controversies, since the past few months. Last heard, a company called Padma Ispat had accused Prerna Arora's KriArj Entertainment of a big monetary fraud. Reports also say that she was in possession of several passports and PAN cards. Lately, she had a massive tangle with Vashu Bhagnani which took the matter to EOW. It is not yet clear whether the Padma Ispat or the Vashu episode did her in.
Recently, Arora also had a spat with Kedarnath director and producer Abhishek Kapoor who hit back saying that she was not paying on the film in time. After their rift which landed in Court, Ronnie Screwvala took over the film.
John Abraham's JA Entertainment also dragged Prerna's company to court on three criminal charges including cheating, breach of trust, defamation, and offenses committed under the IT act, when he had a fallout with her over Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran. John terminated its contract with Kriarj before releasing the film virtually on his own steam. She was also co-producing Batti Gul Meter Chalu, but went out from that too over a big financial dispute. Prernaa has also been under a cloud for some cheque-bouncing cases.
