Bollywood is a
tough nut to crack. No matter how skilled, one needs to get the right
opportunities at the right time to be able to climb the ladder. And no one
knows it better than Parineeti Chopra. Despite making a thumping entry into
Bollywood with her bubbly act in Ladies vs Ricky Bahl (2011), and being applauded
for her acting chops, the actress didn’t quite go the distance.
Parineeti then took a break and returned to the Bollywood circuit last year
looking oh-so-hot. Her envy-inducing makeover shocked the nation and she was
all set to make headlines yet again. However, it will be a while before her
next film, Meri Pyaari Bindu hits theatres. It’s difficult to stay
relevant in Bollywood today as actors today have a small shelf life. Hence,
Parineeti summoned her team recently and told them that from now on, only meaty
film roles are for her.

A source points out that though it’s said that she is keeping an eye on
her contemporaries especially Alia Bhatt. Although the two are great friends in
real life, they are often compared.
“Parineeti is often compared to Alia Bhatt. Somewhere it has been established
that Parineeti is great at the craft but Alia has always picked the right
scripts, which has given Alia an edge over her,” he adds.
“She no longer wants to be an eye candy and will only sign films when she feels
that the role is meaty enough,” concludes the source.
In a few days
from now, Parineeti will begin shooting for Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal 4 (Did

8). She was last seen in an item number in Dishoom.
