Yash Raj Films sells the digital right of Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathaan for a whopping amount
It's been a very long time since Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has not appeared on the big screens with his films. Well, after a sabbatical of more than 3 years, SRK is back on the field with not just one but three films. Currently, the actor has Yash Raj Film's Pathaan, Atlee's untitled and Rajkumar Hirani's recently announced Dunki. Talking about Pathaan, the fans have been eagerly waiting for the film's release as it has been a long time since King Khan has not shined on the big screens.
Months ago, on the note of 50 years of Yash Raj Films, the makers had shared a fascinating glimpse of the Pathaan cast which includes Deepika Padukone, John Abraham and SRK. In this video, the cast announced the release date of the film i.e. 25th January 2023.
Now, after this big announcement, some more deets about the film have just arrived. According to sources by BollywoodLife, Pathaan will be premiered on Amazon Prime Video post its theatrical release. Well, not just Pathaan, YRF has sold other films also to the OTT banner.
Reportedly, the makers have sold the digital rights of Pathaan to Amazon Prime Video for a whopping amount of Rs. 200 crores. However, till now there is no confirmation on this report.
On the other hand, a few days back, Shah Rukh Khan announced his collaboration with the award-winning filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani. SRK shared an intriguing video to announce his upcoming film Dunki along with Taapsee Pannu. Sharing the announcement video, Shah Rukh Khan wrote, "Dear @hirani.rajkumar sir, Aap toh Mere Santa Claus nikle. Aap shuru karo main time pe pahunch jaunga. actually main toh set par hi rehne lagunga!Feeling humbled and excited to finally work with you. Bringing to you all #Dunki in cinemas on 22nd December 2023."
