After two years of sabbatical, Shah Rukh Khan is all set to make the loudest noise on-screen with Siddharth Anand's Pathan. Reportedly, the film stars SRK, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham. According to some reports, the film is expected to kick-start the shoot by the end of November. As the cine-goers are waiting for this film, here's how much John and Deepika are charging for this film. Reportedly, John who plays the antagonist in the film has charged Rs. 20 crore while Deepika Padukone who is currently one of the most bankable actors in Bollywood is getting paid Rs. 15 crores. It is said that the character of Deepika is tailor-made for her and she will probably start shooting from early next year.
“She is easily the most bankable female actor alongside Alia Bhatt today, and everyone at Yash Raj Films as well as SRK, was keen to get Deepika on board this film, to make it one of the biggest casting coups in the year to come. It’s a well sketched character for Deepika and she will start shooting from early next year. She has allotted all her dates and her acting fees for the film is approximately Rs. 14 to 15 crore,” a source told Bollywood Hungama.
The report further suggests that the overall budget of Pathan, excluding SRK fees, would be around Rs. 200 crore plus, thereby making it one of the costliest action films of all time. The source further told the portal that Aditya Chopra didn’t even think twice before agreeing to the acting fees which was demanded by both John and Deepika. It’s considered to be one of the most ambitious YRF films till date, and hence, he doesn’t want to compromise on SRK’s comeback to the screen.
Helmed by Siddharth Anand, Pathan is tentatively gearing up for Diwali 2021 release, depending on how the COVID-19 pandemic unfolds in the months to follow.
