Phogat Sisters Geeta And Babita Praise Aamir Khan's Dangal
Aamir Khan plays their father in Dangal and now Mahavir Singh Phogat's real life daughters, wrestling champions Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari, have reviewed his performance
Yesterday we told you how Mahavir Phogat and his third daughter Ritu Phogat were all applause for Aamir Khan's Dangal after watching the trailer (Mahabir Singh Phogat and Daughter Ritu Phogat React After Watching Aamir Khan’s Dangal Trailer, Oct 20).
And now, the wrestling champions Phogat sisters, Geeta and Babita, have given it a thumps up. 
Geeta and Babita who went on to win Commonwealth medals were both coached by their father Mahavir. Dangal charts their journey from a village in Haryana to the global stage.
The film is set in rural Haryana where Mahavir Phogat, a wrestler, craves for a son, who can fulfill his unfinished dream of winning gold for the country, but destiny has other plans and he is blessed with four daughters instead.
Aamir, worked hard for more than a year to get bulky and then lose the weight to look his part in the film. The effort has surely translated on-screen and the Phogat sisters have now given him the thumbs-up.
The sports drama will release on December 23 this year. It has been directed by Nitesh Tiwari, known for his films like Bhootnath Returns and Chillar Party.
Along with Aamir Khan, the film stars Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Sheikh who play the Phogat sisters.
The trailer was welcomed with a standing ovation when it dropped online yesterday. With the narrative revolving around a father’s quest to break the gender divide in sports, it featured some well-shot wrestling bouts as well as an emotional connect.
Will the film live up to the hopes set by the trailer, let's wait and watch.
