Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother Heeraben on Friday morning passed away at the age of 100. She breathed her last at a hospital in Ahmedabad where she was admitted due to age-related health complications. Soon after PM Modi shared the sad news of his mother’s demise on Twitter, heartfelt tributes poured in from eminent political leaders, Bollywood celebrities, and fans on social media. B-Town celebs including Akshay Kumar, Kangana Ranaut, Anupam Kher, Kapil Sharma, filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri, Ajay Devgn, Shehnaaz Gill, Hema Malini, Raveena Tandon, and others mourned Heeraben’s sad demise.

While offering his condolences, Khiladi Kumar tweeted, “There is no bigger pain then losing your own mother. May God give you strength to endure this loss @narendramodi.” Anupam wrote, “Honourable PM Modi, the unfortunate news of your mother’s demise is saddening. Your love and admiration towards her is known to all. Nobody can fill the void in your life. But you are a true son of Mother India. The blessings of every Indian mother are always with you including my own mother.”

Veteran actress Hema paid her tribute by writing, “The year end has seen a sad loss- Modi ji’s beloved and much respected mother, Heeraben ji has passed away. PM Modi performed the last rites of his mother Heeraben Modi in Gandhinagar. He and his brothers consigned the mortal remains of their late mother to fire. The PM took to his Twitter handle to inform about the passing away of his mother and penned a heartfelt note that read, “A glorious century rests at the feet of God... In Maa, I have always felt that trinity, which contains the journey of an ascetic, the symbol of a selfless Karmayogi and a life committed to values.”
