Police Complaint Filed Against Kangana Ranaut, Rani Lakshmi Bai Filmmaker Ketan Mehta Claims Rs 9 Crore Monetary Compensation!

Here’s another trouble for Kangana Ranaut. A few days back, National Award winning filmmaker Ketan Mehta had sent a legal notice to Kangana stating that she is trying to hijack his pet project on the life of Rani Lakshmi Bai.

Kangana Ranaut replied back saying that her project bears no similarity to Ketan Mehta’s. Not satisfied by her reply, now Ketan has filed a police complaint against the actress with the Economic Offenses Wing ( EOW) Mumbai and claimed Rs 9 cr from the actress.
EOW DCP, Parag Manere confirmed the news with SpotboyE.com and said, “ Yes, we have received a complaint from Ketan Mehta. We have not looked into the details as yet but the claim is of Rs 9 cr.”
We further asked what their next step will be- if they would call Kangana Ranaut for interrogation, he replied, “I cannot comment on that. We will read the report first and then decide further course of action.”
For those who have come in late, Ketan had a project on similar lines which he had announced in June 2015. Kangana was a part of the project, and thus was allegedly privy to all the multiple drafts of the film. However, a couple of years down the line, the filmmaker and Kangana parted ways. Now that Kangana is set to make her own biopic on Rani Lakshmi Bai, Ketan is furious that she has used his research material and gone ahead to announce her own separate project.
