Post Being Banned From The Indian Film Industry, Mika Singh Shouts Bharat Mata Ki Jai; Netizens Call It, “Damage Control”

After receiving backlash for performing in Pakistan, Bollywood and Punjabi singer Mika Singh has now posted a video of himself shouting Bharat Mata Ki Jai at Wagha Border. The celebrated singer was invited to perform at the wedding festivities along with a crew of 14 people in Karachi. Mika took to Pakistan soon after Indian government abrogated Article 370, which gave the special status to Jammu and Kashmir. The movement was followed by Pakistan banning Indian films and cultural content. Soon after news of Mika performing in Pakistan made headline, fans had then taken to social media to express their feelings. Later, the film body All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA) released a statement which stated that it they have boycotted the singer’s association with the film production houses, music companies and online music content providers.

As we celebrated 73rd Independence Day, Mika Singh, proving his patriotism, shared a video of him shouting Bharat Mata Ki Jai. Tweeting the video, he wrote, “Bharat Mata ki Jai! Thank you everyone for such a warm welcome. Happy Independence Day once again and salute to our jawans. They aren’t able to celebrate any festival, all to make our lives better. Jai hind...”

As soon he put up the video, a user wrote, “don’t know but doing a show amid such a major political tension between two countries was ur foolish decision when all the celebrities of pakistan were celebrating 15 aug as black day , regarding us as terrorists. but nyc to hear these things from u now.”

A netizen also said, “After DinkaChika in #Pak this guy trying to win Indians heart and now u can do more shows in Pak.”

Here’s are a few more tweets:

While another said, “No shame. Bollywood has no shame. God has given them fame , money but No love towards their country and Indian army who give their lives for gaddars ! Out of 195 countries they love Pakistan!! Great Mika !! At this stage of your career you need appreciation from across the border.”
