Pritam To Compose Music For Ranveer Singh’s ‘83; Actor Asks Him To Create An Anthem
Here is some great news for all the cricket enthusiasts who are eagerly waiting for Kabir Khan’s ‘83 to release. Starring Ranveer Singh, ‘83 is a biopic on one of India’s legendary cricketers Kapil Dev and will showcase his journey right from childhood to the epic World Cup in 1983, which India won against West Indies. What’s more? Well, singer-music composer Pritam Chakraborty is doing the music of the film.

The news was announced on the official Instagram handle of the film on Monday, 13th May 2019.

"Kabir's solid presence and Ranveer's vibrant energy together promises an exciting sports film and I am looking forward to working on the score for '83 with music that matches their madness. The film is even more special (to me) because the memory and the euphoria of the 1983 World cup victory is still fresh with me, even though I was a very young kid (at the time)! It was a moment for India like no other," says Pritam.

Meanwhile, Pritam, who recently composed Ghar More Pardesia from Kalank, will also be composing music for the Ayan Mukerji directorial Brahmastra and Chhichhore.

Speaking of the Kabir Khan film, the director has been picking up the sons of other players to portray their fathers on-screen. After Chirag Patil, who stepped into the shoes of his father and cricketer Sandeep Patil, it was reported that the son of the late West Indies fast bowler Malcolm Marshall, Mali will be playing him on-screen.

Ranveer Singh and his team kickstarted prep work for the film in Dharamshala. We even shared videos of them partying and singing songs during their break-time. Also for those unaware, Kapil Dev has been coaching the actor to get the nuances bang on.

Can it get better than that?
