After Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey, Akshay Kumar starrer Prithviraj will also now release on November 5, 2021
Filmmakers have been waiting for almost a year now to present their movies to the audience, which have been on the hold with the outbreak of COVID-19. Hence 2021 will witness a lot of movies releasing, followed by box office clashes most likely to take place. In Diwali 2021, audiences will see a box office clash between Akshay Kumar’s Prithviraj and Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey. On Wednesday, makers of Akshay Kumar starrer announced the release date of the movie, i.e. November 5, 2021.
This biopic based on the life of Samrat Prithiviraj Chauhan has a stellar cast with Sanjay Dutt and Sonu Sood being on board; yet another reason for this flick to be special is that former Miss World Manushi Chhillar will mark her Bollywood debut with it. The film was initially supposed to release in Diwali 2020, but was delayed with the COVID-19 pandemic. Also as per reports in the media, the film team had shot for the maximum portion before the pandemic hit the pause button, thus making it impossible for the team to shoot for the remaining portion of the movie.
So this year the box office will witness two superstars locking horns with their giant projects, leaving the audience spoilt for choices.
Few months ago Shahid Kapoor too locked Diwali 2021 for his sport flick, announcing the release date of Jersey he wrote in his Instagram post, “JERSEY releasing in theatres this DIWALI 5th November 2021.The triumph of the human spirit. A journey I am so very proud of. This one’s for the TEAM ....”
