Priyanka Chopra Opens Up About Aussie Journo Who Questioned Her If She Was ‘Qualified’ To Announce 2021 Oscar Nominations: ‘That Just Pissed Me Off’
Global star Priyanka Chopra is someone who wears her heart on her sleeves. Whether it’s talking about her personal life or professional, the desi girl has never shied away from expressing herself and often pours out her heart. Of late, Priyanka has been making headlines for making some candid confessions. As we speak of this, the actress in a recent interview opened up about her heated exchange with an Aussie journalist who questioned her qualification for announcing Oscar nominations last year.

For the unversed, In March 2021, an Aussie journo took to Twitter and asked whether she and her husband Nick Jonas were ‘qualified enough’ to announce nominations for the 93rd Academy Awards. Back then, the ‘Baywatch’ actress had given him a befitting reply by sharing a video wherein she listed over 60 acting credits from her almost two-decade-long career in Bollywood and also talked about making her international debut.
Now, while speaking to Vanity Fair, Priyanka Chopra recalled that incident and admitted that she usually remains unaffected by people's opinions but that really “pissed her off.”

She was quoted saying, “I usually don't get mad, but that just pissed me off.”  Adding to this, PeeCee stated, “I'll be mad, I'll be angry, I'll be annoyed. I'll speak about it to my family. I might cry a little bit, but it doesn't change my relationship with my work and what my actual quest is. My quest is not people's opinions. My quest is my job. My quest is making sure that when someone watches something that I have done, it moves them or they enjoy it. My personal life, who I am, all of that is not my job.”

Further, she spoke about the perils of social media when speculations were rife that all was not well in her marriage paradise after she dropped Jonas from her surname on Twitter. Calling it as a ‘professional hazard’, Priyanka said, “It's a very vulnerable feeling, actually, that if I post a picture, everything that's behind me in that picture is going to be zoomed in on, and people are going to speculate.”

Meanwhile, on the work front, the actress was last seen in the Hollywood film ‘The Matrix Resurrections’, which was released on 22 December 2021.
